Trinity Bible Church had an exciting time during their 2008 Vacation Bible School!
Our VBS was held at the church June 9-13.
Our theme this year was, "Empowered By the Son" from Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF).
The dozen or so children who attended enjoyed solid
Bible content and clear Gospel presentations. The program clearly presented the need for all to
understand their need for Christ and have an opportunity to trust Him
as Savior. Then the kids learned how to be empowered by the Son,
the Lord Jesus Christ; to have a right heart attitude, be happy for
others, and witness, pray, and obey. They grew in their faith and were
encouraged to share it with others.
There were crafts, games, songs, snacks, and so much more! It
was a blessed time of learning about God, growing in Him,
and encouragement through God's Word for these special young
people.

Almost three full years after Hurricane Katrina, our
"Little Blue Church on the Hill" finally has a new sign. Our previous
sign was blown over during the high winds of Katrina. We stood what was
left of it back up to let people know we were still open for God's
business, but we were unable to make the needed repairs due to new city
sign regulations.
After the storm, many other efforts took priority over getting our sign
issue resolved. We had so many people who were in need of serious
home- and life-repair ministering that a new sign just didn't seem that
important. We were also waist deep in installing our new classroom
building. But what about the sign...?
The season finally came for us to turn our attention toward
getting a new sign. We trust we have added a new light in an
often dark world and provided an invitation to any who would come to
draw closer to God. |

Pastor Gerry Rubink and his
wife, Jan, have been with us since February 2004, and we’ve
all been blessed by their presence and their ministry.
Since their arrival, we've grown
spiritually and seen some bright new faces on a regular basis.
Our increase in size, diversity, and talent
has allowed us to introduce some new music into our worship service. Many churches have found
the updating of their musical selections to be a divisive issue. Growth and change are not
always easy; but, with Christian patience, compassion, and a desire to
glorify God, we are doing both – in His love.
We look forward to continued growth and sweet
fellowship at Trinity Bible Church
at River Oaks as God draws us together by His Holy Spirit through our
relationships with Him because of His Son, Jesus Christ.
-- We welcome you to come fellowship, worship,
and grow with us --

Classroom Expansion Project

As a growing
church, one of the issues we were rapidly
facing was where to put everyone! God answered that prayer in
a unique
way. After Hurricane Katrina, the Social Security Office in Pascagoula,
MS, procured a modular classroom facility to use while their facility received repairs. Once the main
office building
re-opened, we purchased the 1,600 sq. ft. classroom unit
from them
and had it transported to our property.
With the help of
special friends
from Illinois,
who we met because of the hurricane, the installation of the building
next to
our church is completed, and it will soon be ready for use as
children's Sunday school classrooms and a youth group activity
center.

Trinity
Bible Church Youth Group

Our youth group displays a contagious vitality and excitement that shines
throughout the church. It’s
truly a blessing to have a group of young people who are so intent on
maturing in their relationships with God while, at the same time,
having such fun fellowshipping with each other.
We’re also finding
creative ways of getting our youth involved in church ministry and
missions-oriented outreach programs.
The youth group connects with Group Workcamps for
summer mission trips that are life changing. In recent years, our youth
group has ministered in Monroe, LA; St. Petersburg, FL; and Austin, TX.
During 2007/2008, we will be studying "Demolishing Stongholds" from Answers in Genesis on Sunday evenings. It's an exciting video-based curriculum designed to turn teens from being passive to passionate about the authority of God's Word. |

The
youth of Trinity Bible Church at River Oaks invite you to participate
with them in their youth group activities. The name of the
youth
group is "Back to Zero;" also known as "B2Z."
We believe that
according to God’s Word, we're all equal no matter what our
stature or status is while we're here on earth. Whether
you've tallied an incomparable
bounty of riches, or have squandered every earthly gain--when we come
to the
cross and look up to Jesus with humility and awe, we all start at the
same
place. We all start at zero. So, when we
come to youth group, we humble ourselves, drop
our egos at the door, and go "Back to Zero."

The focus of B2Z
is to encourage youth to grow closer
to God through the study of his Word and fellowship with others their
same age, and to reach out to friends and invite them to grow closer to
God too. Fellowship opportunities include special youth services,
camping, game nights, fine
dining (e.g., Sonics),
Bible
study, movie nights, overnights/lockins (with multiple big-screen
gaming and movie projection/watching stations), summer mission trips,
service-oriented mission trip fund raisers, and so on. Because we're a
small church, we accept a wide age range in our group--from "early
teens" to "early 20s."
